Yesterday we gave you Part 1 of our 4 part series concerning organizing your life. You may have already guessed that today is going to be Part 2 so allow me to introduce Part 2 to you and without further adieu we are going to nose dive right into two more excuses of why people are not getting organized.

  • You Store Things You Are Sentimental About

Many of you maybe hoarding a collection of things you are sentimental about.  There are many of you who really enjoy storing all that reminds you of places and people you love. This is a tough one to solve as so many things remind us of the past, a place where life was different and all we have left is what we have collected and kept for many years. The trick here is you need to be a bit selective – it is important to pickout the mementos which are truly special and then toss the rest.

  • You May Want To Keep Something for Your Kids

Before you start packing your basement and/or attic with things you would like to pass on to your children you need to ask yourself “Am I certain my children would want this years down the road.” Try to put yourself in your childs shoe and with changing styles and fads would it make sense to save this for my child?

It is very possible that a child who is interested in something now will want nothing to do with the item a few years down the road. Don’t be discouraged as what we are saying is keeping an item or two may be ok for now but you don’t want to clutter your space with things you are not sure will be used, “ever”.

Stop by tomorrow when we will share Part 3 of 4 with you in our 4 part series on getting organized.
