Teenagers experience a range of emotions at various points in their lives, such emotions are dependent upon the situation faced as well as ones which are avoided. Circumstances do not always work in favor of a teenager and this can generate negative emotions and feelings. Attempting to detect the exact sources of such negative emotions is essential if you want to avoid teen depression – maybe you are not a teenager reading this but perhaps you know someone who is affected by depression at such a young age.
For the most part teenagers are aware of the sources that make them happy however they may not have a good grasp of the reasons that lead the negative emotions yet there are various kinds of emotions such as anxiety, anger, depression, panic and fear that can prove to be harmful to your physical well being and your emotional state.

Negative emotions can have drastic effects on a daily routine as well as decay decision-making skills. It is best to find out situations, people or even thoughts which trigger negative emotions. It is a good idea to break up thoughts into positive and negative thoughts. Make a list of these thoughts and observe them carefully. You may find the list of negative thoughts to be longer than the list of positive thoughts, if so no worries because this is okay.
This exercise will help you to eliminate all of the negative thoughts, therefore you need to dominate your mind with positive thoughts. Detecting sources of negative emotions is important as this can help in the understanding of the importance of each thought. Not all thoughts deserve your attention so it is necessary to ignore the less important ones when it comes to determining priorities.
Eliminate the negative emotions and dwell upon positive thoughts instead. This will help to infuse positive feelings and generate positive vibes. Thus, to avoid teen depression, you need to take the first step of detecting sources of negative emotions.Once this is practiced daily, getting rid of negativity becomes a very easy process.
